Written and compiled by the Center for Information on Korean Culture at the Academy of Korean Studies (AKA), this book is aimed at helping foreign students and researchers comprehensively understand Korean culture and society in general. One of the main aims in compiling this book is to study how Korea is portrayed and understood in the textbooks of other countries. This book is based on that research and has been developed primarily for students and scholars who have a special interest in Korea, with a view to informing them of Korean society's past and present. In case a computer inquiry is not possible, a quick inquiry by fax or post is available for reference upon the user's request.
